Darien Residence Involved In Pursuit and Crash

For Immediate Release
Darien, CT- At approximately 3:30 am on June 29, 2018,
the Greenwich Police advised that they were pursuing a vehicle northbound on
the Merritt Parkway. The vehicle, a
silver 2016 Honda CRV, was involved in a suspicious incident earlier in the
morning in Greenwich but had fled the scene.
The vehicle was then located a second time in Greenwich and a pursuit
initiated. Investigation revealed that
the vehicle had been stolen out of the driveway of a Fitch Ave residence in
Darien sometime during the overnight hours.
During the pursuit, the suspects attempted to
elude police by exiting the Merritt Parkway at exit 38 in Norwalk, but
subsequently collided with a parked vehicle.
All 3 male suspects fled the scene on foot after the collision. Two of the three suspects were apprehended a
short distance from the scene. The third
suspect has not been located at this time.
Arrested at the scene by Greenwich Police was Taylin Fraiser, age 18, of
43 Columbus Circle Hartford, CT. The
second suspect was a male juvenile.
Fraiser was charged by Greenwich Police with:
- Larceny, first
degree
- Criminal trover,
second degree
- Interfering with
an officer
He was held on $5,000.00 bond and will appear in court on
July 13, 2018. Additional information
regarding the arrest should be directed to the Greenwich Police Department
Follow up investigation determined that the vehicle owner
left it unlocked with the key fob inside while the vehicle was left parked
overnight in the driveway of the Fitch Avenue residence.
This
is the third unlocked stolen car from Darien that had keys in it, within the
last two weeks. There have also been
eighteen (18) overnight car burglaries of unlocked vehicles in Darien in June
of 2018.
