Darien, CT- At approximately 3:30 am on June 29, 2018, the Greenwich Police advised that they were pursuing a vehicle northbound on the Merritt Parkway.  The vehicle, a silver 2016 Honda CRV, was involved in a suspicious incident earlier in the morning in Greenwich but had fled the scene.  The vehicle was then located a second time in Greenwich and a pursuit initiated.  Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen out of the driveway of a Fitch Ave residence in Darien sometime during the overnight hours.

During the pursuit, the suspects attempted to elude police by exiting the Merritt Parkway at exit 38 in Norwalk, but subsequently collided with a parked vehicle.  All 3 male suspects fled the scene on foot after the collision.  Two of the three suspects were apprehended a short distance from the scene.  The third suspect has not been located at this time.  Arrested at the scene by Greenwich Police was Taylin Fraiser, age 18, of 43 Columbus Circle Hartford, CT.  The second suspect was a male juvenile.  Fraiser was charged by Greenwich Police with:

  • Larceny, first degree
  • Criminal trover, second degree
  • Interfering with an officer

He was held on $5,000.00 bond and will appear in court on July 13, 2018.  Additional information regarding the arrest should be directed to the Greenwich Police Department

Follow up investigation determined that the vehicle owner left it unlocked with the key fob inside while the vehicle was left parked overnight in the driveway of the Fitch Avenue residence.

This is the third unlocked stolen car from Darien that had keys in it, within the last two weeks.  There have also been eighteen (18) overnight car burglaries of unlocked vehicles in Darien in June of 2018.
