The Darien Police Department proudly announces its endorsement of Connecticut POST-C State Tier III Advanced Accreditation which was unanimously approved by POST Counsel on November 13, 2025. This landmark and historic accomplishment means that the Darien Police Department has met the highest level of state-mandated professional standards through a process that involved implementing rigorous policies, procedures, and management practices. This distinction signifies a commitment to excellence, accountability, and community trust, ensuring operations meet the most professional standards in law enforcement.
“Our agency will continue to demonstrate our unwavering efforts to progress in providing professional public safety service,” said Chief Jeremiah P. Marron Jr.
This recognition also reflects the Darien Police Department’s continuous commitment to strong policy, integrity, transparency and best practices in serving the community. Throughout the process the Darien Police Department needed to meet comprehensive, professional standards across a variety of areas, including liability, professional conduct, and general management with the goal of enhancing public confidence, improving service delivery, and promoting professionalism within the department.
“Achieving this milestone demonstrates the Darien Police Department’s continued focus on community safety and we remain dedicated to serving Darien with excellence, accountability, and pride. None of it could be possible, however, without the dedication, perseverance, and efficiency of our Accreditation Managers Lt. T.J. Whyte, Lt. Derek Mulcahy, and Lt. Dan Skoumbros. With much praise and thanks, I extend heartfelt appreciation for their extremely hard work and effort,” said Chief Jeremiah P. Marron Jr. ?? (L to R) Lt.
