On Thursday, April 24, 2008, at approximately 11:05AM, a bank robbery occurred at the People's Bank located at 25 Old Kings Highway North, Darien.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5'10" tall, wearing a dark colored mask and hooded sweatshirt. No additional suspects were observed.

The suspect demanded money from a teller and then exited the bank via the front door. No weapon was displayed or implied and the suspect escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect was last observed entering a small dark colored vehicle that had been parked in the Goodwives Shopping Center. This vehicle was last observed exiting via the parking lot entrance.

The robbery is being investigated by the Darien Police Department's Detective Divisions. Anyone who may have information concerning this robbery is asked to contact the Detective Division at (203) 662-5330.

Darien Police advise that in recent months numerous motor vehicle burglaries have been reported with items subsequently removed from the vehicles. Specifically GPS units are being targeted. Locations primarily include commercial and commuter parking lots.
